Add a light scent: a few drops of essential oil straight onto the wool, left to soak in for a minute before going into the dryer, carries a soft scent through the whole load. Lavender, lemon, and peppermint all work well.
Cut static at the end: dampen the balls slightly and add them for just the last few minutes of the cycle — it helps break up static as the load finishes drying.
